lunch & learn

Saturday, September 19th
12:00-2:00 pm

At the intersection of food and storytelling, Where Stories Are Served brings together two remarkable cookbook authors for an intimate lunch at M. Judson Booksellers.

Chef Teryi Youngblood celebrates the release of her new cookbook alongside Renae Wilson, a culinary historian and “food archaeologist” whose work traces the journey of Black foodways across America—from their roots in slavery to their lasting influence today.

Together, they offer more than a meal—each course is a reflection of history, heritage, and personal narrative. As guests dine and sip on wine, the authors will share the stories behind their recipes, exploring how food preserves culture, carries memory, and connects generations.

Where Stories Are Served is a meaningful and immersive experience—where every dish has a story, and every story is meant to be shared.

$5 from every ticket purchased will directly support Upstate charitable partners through our 501(c)(3), Local Boys Do Good. We thank you for your generosity. Visit our FAQs for additional information.
