The co-owners of craft beer bar The Whale, Andrew Ross and Jesse Van Note, are quintessential Ashevillians: They both previously worked at Wicked Weed Brewing for years; Ross sports below-waist dreadlocks; Van Note is decorated in colorful ink, even on his scalp, and he plays bass in a heavy metal band.
Ross and Van Note have spent years trying to learn, experience and soak up all things beer both locally and internationally. This passion for all things fermented has turned from a passion to a business with the introduction of The Whale in 2017. The Whale specializes in bringing old world beer, trending new styles, meads, ciders and sakes to the public with an informative approach in a bar type setting. PROST!
