Chef Chris Rosensteel is a South Carolina native, having spent most of his early life in Greenville South Carolina. At 13, He grew up in the dish pit of his father’s restaurant, receiving a first hand education into all the sounds and smells of a full functioning kitchen. After wasting years of his life bouncing around from college to college, he made his way back to his roots and enrolled in the Culinary Institute of the Carolinas, where he spent the next three years. After leaving the Institute, Chef began working for The Uptown Company, where he would eventually take over in the spring of 2019. In 2020, he teamed up with Jeremy Krauze to launch Society Sandwich Bar and Social Club, a restaurant/bar specializing in crafted sandwiches and non traditional ramen, at 18 E Coffee Street. Chef Rosensteel is the winner of the 2019 and 2021 Iron Caterer Throwdown, as well as the winner of the Governors award for Hospitality and Tourism. He is currently a nominee for best chef in the upstate 2022.
