Participating In: Aged to Perfection & Party in the Park

A true Charleston local, Elizabeth Gorman was born and raised in the Lowcountry. With family roots in West Ashley that go back many generations, it is only fitting that Gorman would find a home at the beloved West Ashley eatery, Ms. Rose’s Fine Food & Cocktails. While Gorman has always had a passion for food, she chose to put family first and focus on raising her four children. It was not until her husband, a veteran of the Army National Guard, was deployed to Kuwait in 2012, that Gorman found herself inspired to pursue her passion for the pastry arts. Gorman enrolled in classes at the Culinary Institute of Charleston the same year and has not looked back since. Juggling family-life, school and different roles, including working for Charleston’s very-own RiverDogs minor league baseball team, Gorman was eventually hired by Tristan Catering + Events in the summer of 2016 as a pastry cook. While at Tristan Catering + Events, Gorman worked her way up to become an integral member of the catering group’s pastry department. In October 2018, Gorman was hired by Ms. Rose’s Fine Food & Cocktails as the Executive Pastry Chef. In her current role, Gorman is responsible for creating and executing the restaurant’s rotating dessert menus. So far, her favorite dessert to make at Ms. Rose’s is the Banana Cheesecake. When Gorman is not in the kitchen, she can be found spending time with family on the water, taking care of her three cats or making cookies and cupcakes because with four kids there is always a need for a birthday baked good.
