Rachel Mazur joined Gordon Food Service as a Culinary Specialist in 2019 after almost 25 years in the food service industry.
Chef Rachel started her food career at 15 in the front of the house and worked all positions from host to server to bartender. She quickly rose into management but always found herself in the kitchen studying the techniques and learning from the Chefs. On her days off, she picked up whatever shifts she could in the kitchen, helping out in dish, with prep and on the line. She then began getting involved in new restaurant openings and transitioned into training. Over the next few years, she facilitated over 35 openings that encompassed every aspect of operations within the four walls.
She returned to day-to-day operations as a General Manager but still had that longing to be in the kitchen. Chef Rachel attended Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, NC to further hone her skills and graduated summa cum laude in 2013. She then excelled in roles that allowed her to use her expertise in both front of the house and back of the house as a Director of Operations and Area Director.
As a Culinary Specialist, Chef Rachel is now able to use those experiences to help her peers to be successful and profitable operators. She is committed to providing industry insights, analytics and innovative ideas to help Gordon Food Service customers find the right solutions for growing their business.
