Welcome to Date Night, your weekly inspiration and themed itinerary pairing a local cultural activity or event with a corresponding dining experience. Want to win at going out? Impress your significant other with your newfound, niche planning skills? Or simply answer the weekly “what are we doing tonight?” I got you.
We could all use a break right about now. Those of us who’ve survived the first few harrowing weeks of school being back in session and the rest who’ve navigated the resulting traffic deserve a day off.
Lucky for most of us, we have Labor Day weekend to stretch out and relax a bit, enjoy a Sunday without the scaries and maybe even spend some quality family time that doesn’t revolve around a rigid schedule.
In the interest of those priorities, take this week off from an official Date Night. I’ll be the first to admit planning nights out with even the most minimal of intention takes effort, and if you’re the planner in the relationship, I see you and I hear you, and absolve you from date duty this week.
Instead, let’s plan ahead a few weeks. This does two things. First, it keeps your planning skills sharp. Can’t risk an untimely lapse. Secondly, it gives you another planning break in the near future and avoids a frantic scramble for a plan or babysitter.
So what future date are we scheming? Only the best weekend of the year in Greenville, if you like great food and a party.
